Sculpture After Care

Part of the joy of working with ‘green’ wood (wood which has not been dried or treated)  is that the wood is still a living, breathing, moving piece of art. This means that your Daltonwood sculpture will work in harmony with nature, responding to changes in temperature and environment, expanding and contracting with heat and moisture. Splits cracks and colour change evolve over time, adding character and charm to your Daltonwood creation.

Treating your Daltonwood sculpture regularly will reduce weathering. We recommend using the same high-quality wood, cedar or Osmo Oil that has been used in the Daltonwood workshop.

A large majority of Rob’s work is creating sculptures from tree stumps still in the ground. Rob can travel to your home or business space to survey the tree stump and discuss your sculpture design idea.
